Frequently Asked Questions

I'm having problems purchasing/downloading on my iPhone or iPad. Can you help?

Absolutely! Please view the video below to get a thorough demonstration of how to purchase and download on an iPhone or iPad.

How are your pieces delivered?

We currently use digital delivery only. This means when you order a piece, you will get a download link to download a PDF file containing the score and parts right away. Mp3s are included too! We avoid using physical delivery because of the added expenses of materials and shipping. However, we may incorporate physical delivery in the future.

How do you grade the difficulty of your work?

Difficulty is assigned based on a 5-tier grading from Beginner to Advanced. This is based on the typical range of abilities of a dedicated percussionist throughout high school and college. However if an ensemble is say "Moderate" overall, yet some parts are closer to "Advanced", we may assign the piece as Moderate-Advanced to acknowledge those more challenging parts.

How do you price your work?

Pricing is determined by taking into account the number of instruments, complexity, and duration of the score. For example, Eric's vibraphone solo "Consumed by the Universe" is written for one instrument, is 4 minutes and 45 seconds in length whereas Eric's ensemble "Escaping a Nightmare" has ten parts yet is only 3'45" in length. The complexity of the solo is greater than any individual part in the ensemble, so we wouldn't fairly charge as much for every single part in the ensemble as we would for the solo.

We also price 10-20% lower than a corperate publisher would for any similar piece. We are a very small company and we figure keeping prices lower won't hurt. And our clients don't mind it either!

What software do you use?

Eric uses Logic Pro for audio creation alongside Sibelius 7 for sheet music notation. His current top 5 sound libraries are Virtual Drumline by Tapspace, Grand Marimba by Soniccouture, Pure Jazz Vibes and Cherry Electric Bass by Orange Tree Samples, and a surprisingly good timpani instrument within Kontakt Factory Library.
