Red, green, yellow, BLUE LIGHT! And not the little blue lights above traffic signals that police use to catch red light runners. This is a kind of blue light that lies somewhere along the column of regular traffic signals. The function of this special light? Well, one can at least discover how it sounds...

It can be difficult to find a time in the piece when the four different mallet instruments are playing the same musical phrase. And did you ever doubt whether or not a groove could be felt purely with mallet percussion, without any drum kit or auxiliary added in? Equally, did you ever doubt such a mallet quartet could convey a high level of emotion? You've found the piece to reverse those doubts!

This piece is written for standard Xylophone, Marimba, Vibraphone and Chimes. Vibraphone is written for four-mallet while the other three parts are two mallet. Need a different arrangement? See here.
