Red, green, yellow, BLUE LIGHT! And not the little blue lights above traffic signals that police use to catch red light runners. This is a kind of blue light that lies somewhere along the column of regular traffic signals. The function of this special light? Well, one can at least discover how it sounds...
It can be difficult to find a time in the piece when the four different mallet instruments are playing the same musical phrase. And did you ever doubt whether or not a groove could be felt purely with mallet percussion, without any drum kit or auxiliary added in?
