Erik Satié was one of the most accomplished French Impressionistic pianists and composers that ever existed. His timeless music simply challenges classification. His premiere Gymnopédie is among his most famous. The melody is so strangely familiar, as if it was written from a dream. Vibraphone definitely brings out the intense, yet unintentional emotion of Satié's composition.
This solo is written for 4-mallets. Versions for both 3 & 4-octave Vibraphone are included. The 4-octave version is in the original key of D while the 3-octave version has been transposed from D to F. Need a different arrangement? See here.
